Athearn with cotton bales and weathered with wood stain 40 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"302\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/up50587flat.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/up50587flat.jpg 576w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/up50587flat-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">UP 40&#8242; Flat Car. Athearn with wooden deck added and wire grab irons, weathered with wood stain 40 years ago. It runs in train ahead of the camera car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"275\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/sp328000gon.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/sp328000gon.jpg 576w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/sp328000gon-300x143.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">SP 50&#8242; Gondola. Athearn car with added grab irons and stirrup steps, wood stain weathering 40 years ago. This is one of four gondolas used for scarp iron service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"302\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/up50587flat-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/up50587flat-1.jpg 576w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/up50587flat-1-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">SP 50&#8242; Flat Car. Varney metal repainted. Lumber load is removable using thin refrigerator magnet material. Made by Ulrich in 1950s. Weathered with a brown Latex paint wash. Made by Accrurail Co. This old Athearn car was weathered with a gray wash. It hauls fuel oil to an orchard smug pot fuel destrubitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"344\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/erie79172box.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/erie79172box.jpg 576w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/erie79172box-300x179.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">Erie 40&#8242; Box Car. Athearn metal, made 1950s. Found at a train show in 2006. I&#8217;ve seen older box cars on the prototype looking new like this one, and I really don&#8217;t want to weather it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"311\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/weathered_hop.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/weathered_hop.jpg 576w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/weathered_hop-300x162.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">50&#8242; Standard Hopper Car This is one of the latest cars from Athearn with scale grab irons and thin metal roof walk. I weathered this car using a wash of white Latex indoor paint to look like it has been hauling potash. You may notice that I have sprung trucks on most of my rolling stock, this is because they seem to track better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/np8130box.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/np8130box.jpg 576w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/np8130box-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">NP 50&#8242; Box Car. This old AHM car is most likely from a train set. It&#8217;s been detailed with metal stirrup steps and a new roof walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"551\" height=\"260\" src=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/coca-cola563-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/coca-cola563-1.jpg 551w, https:\/\/sopacincg.com\/lasfv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/coca-cola563-1-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">Coca-Cola, 50&#8242; Box Car. This car has got to be the ugliest model train car ever. It came from our model railroad clubs junk box and as a challange, I&#8217;ll try to do something to make it look better. Most likely heavy weathering and leaking cans of Coca Cola rusting through the car sides.
